Spring Case Madness: 24 Of The Best

Coolermaster ATC-220-VX1

The Coolermaster ATC-220-VX1.

The ATC-220-VX1 is one of the latest additions to the Coolermaster family. The ATC-220-VX1 also enjoys the distinction of offering, what Coolermaster called the "Magic Light Reflection" in the front acrylic panel that acts as a door for the front of the case. This is perhaps one of the most interesting features of the ATV-220-VX1!

The ATC-220-VX1 is clearly targeted at the case modder and it is offered with a variety of options covering both the look and color of the case. What we were surprised to see was a new offering in the ATC-220-VX1 that includes a Black Door with Black automobile mirrorized quality painted side panel. We didn't have the chance to look at this model, but it is interesting to note case companies are expanding their offerings to include new and unique finishes for the case. We hope that Coolermaster will be sending us this version of the ATC-220-VX1, so that we can get a first hand look at the finish.

The side view of the ATC-220-VX1.

The ATC-220-VX1 shares much of the same internal design as the ATC-110. Perhaps the most notable missing feature is the two fans in the front of the case, which are found on the ATC-110. The ATC-220-VX1 uses a "heat rises" strategy that is vented out of the top of the case using an 80mm top mounted fan. This strategy does raise some concern about the overall effective cooling of the ATC-220-VX1 in "hot configurations." While we did not encounter any problems with cooling in our test setup, the lack of front intake does limit the potential cooling of the case.
