MSI's Radeon R9 290X TwinFrozr 4S OC Pictured

MSI has revealed its upcoming Radeon R9 290X TwinFrozr 4S OC graphics card, and it's a big one.

The graphics card, which features a non-reference PCB design is, as its name indicates, also equipped with the TwinFrozr 4S cooler. This is a bigger variant of the TwinFrozr 4 cooler, which allows the card to run cool enough to reach the full 1.0 GHz GPU clock speed. The card is powered by an 8+6-pin PCIe power connector configuration. The card also features a backplate.

In addition to this graphics card, MSI is reportedly also working on a Radeon R9 290X Lightning card, as detailed in this story.

The MSI Radeon R9 290X TwinFrozr 4S OC graphics card is expected to hit the market sometime between late-December and early-January. In Japan the card will retail for 80,000 Yen, which translates to about $775. Ouch!
