Microsoft seriously hacked

Microsoft's customarily casual attitude about security problems, created by the company's philosophy of easy interoperability between its applications, has come home hard. Experts are refuting assurances by Microsoft executives that no harm was done by the hackers, apparently Russian, who used an Outlook e-mail attachment to steal the passwords used to access the company's source code. Some analysts believe the code taken from the Redmond site could be used to coordinate a potentially ruinous attack on a single company or the entire US economy.
