Gigabyte to target non-motherboard business in H2 2005

Gigabyte Technology is attempting to expand its business from motherboards to non-motherboard product lines, including own-brand notebooks and mobile phones, according to company chairman Dandy Yeh. Contribution from the own-brand segment should help the motherboard maker’s profits improve in the third quarter and then take off in 2006, said Yeh.
