EE Launches Its First Pay As You Go 4G Handset

EE has been providing 4G LTE service on contract for almost a year and now the company is ramping things up a bit. Earlier this month, the UK's first 4G carrier announced its intention to sell PAYG phones as well. EE confirmed it would start selling PAYG 4G LTE plans as well as pay as you go handsets at the end of the month.

Today, EE launches its first PAYG handset, the Alcatel One Touch Idol S. The Alcatel One Touch Idol S packs a 4.7-inch 720x1280 IPS LCD screen, a dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU, an 8-megapixel camera, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage (plus microSD up to 32 GB), and Android 4.2. The phone was announced in August but and is priced at £129.99 on EE. Still, if the Alcatel One Touch Idol S doesn't float your boat, you'll have plenty of other options, as EE has said that all 4GEE handsets currently available to pay monthly customers will be available on pay as you go. Just don't expect them to be as affordable as the One Touch Idol S.
