Just months before its retail release, Blizzard has revealed the Collector’s Edition for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Blizzard is already warning fans now that this particular edition will be available in limited quantities, and will be offered at select retail locations.
This limited edition set will include an art book that actually links to an augmented reality app for Android and iOS for viewing select images, a physical copy of the soundtrack, a Behind The Scenes DVD and Blu-ray 2-disc set, the Reaper of Souls game, and a Malthael mouse pad.
The limited edition set also provides exclusive in-game content including the Spectral Hound minion and aesthetic artifacts. “Charge through Sanctuary with your Spectral Hound minion at your side, and transmogrify your gear with a trio of ageless helms and a full complement of Malthael-inspired weapons,” reads the description.
But that’s not all. By purchasing this limited edition set, players also receive a Treasure Goblin pet for World of Warcraft, and Crusader portraits and Malthael decals for StarCraft II.
“The Prime Evil rages within the Black Soulstone, its essence screaming for vengeance and release. Before the artifact can be sealed away forever, Malthael -- the Angel of Death -- manifests in the mortal realms with a deadly new purpose: to steal the Black Soulstone and bend its infernal power to his will. So begins the end of all things,” reads the product description.
The expansion pack will add a fifth Act to the Diablo III story. Also included will be a new Crusader character, a raised level cap of 70, a new Adventure Mode, a new artisan called the Mystic, a new fourth slot for passive skills and more. Naturally customers will need the original Diablo III game to play Reaper of Souls.
Reaper of Souls is expected to launch on March 25, 2014. This Collector’s Edition will cost $79.99 USD whereas the Standard version will retail for $39.99. Customers can pre-purchase the game now at Amazon, Gamestop, Best Buy and Walmart.
