AMD's Not-So-Subtle Hint at a Dual-Hawaii Graphics Card

It is not a new rumor that AMD is working on a graphics card, possibly codenamed "Vesuvius." It is expected to feature two of AMD's Hawaii GPUs and might also be known as a Radeon R9 290X-X2, or such. The official naming hasn't been confirmed anywhere yet. Now, AMD has pulled off a rather interesting stunt, in which it not-so-subtly hints at a dual-GPU graphics card. It doesn't take a genius to figure out which that will be.

Our own Chris Angelini received an envelope the image below. The envelope was stamped 'Top Secret', and inside:

A brilliant move from AMD, assuming it was the sender, of course. Given that the origin of the package was Toronto-based, that's quite likely, though nowhere did it clearly state that it was from AMD. Or maybe Chris just has a creepy secret admirer.

I'd stick a fork in the secret admirer :)Back on topic, I wonder of the x2's prices will skyrocket once they are found to be THE best thing to own for virtual currency mining...? Makes you wonder huh?

No doubt. AMD has forsaken its PC gamer base. Why not sell a "mining" line of products?
