Apple Predicted to Sell 102M iPads, 194M iPhones in 2013

An analyst has predicted that Apple will sell over 100 million iPads in 2013 alone, along with selling 194 million iPhones.

Canaccord Genuity's Michael Walkley believes that Apple will sell 101.6 million iPads during 2013, which would give it a 58.4 percent share of the tablet market.

Elsewhere, the analyst sees Amazon selling 10.7 million total tablets during 2013, with Samsung projected to sell 8.4 million tablets.

Walkley also expects Apple to sell 193.9 million iPhones in the same calendar year. When combined with 303.6 million expected handset sales from Samsung, both companies are due to control more than 50 percent of the entire smartphone market. After all, the two technology giants are already commanding 106 percent of the handset industry's profits.

Apple recently confirmed that total iPad sales exceeded 100 million this month since the debut of the original tablet back in March, 2010. The company will release the in-demand iPad Mini and iPad 4 on Friday.
