Acer Japan has announced its entry into the 3D laptop arena with the AS5745DG-A54E/L, a 15.6-inch high-cost performance model sporting Nvidia's tasty 3D VISION graphics.
Monday Akihabara News reported that the new Acer laptop will be powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium x64 operating system. Other baseline features will include HDMI, Bluetooth and WiFi b/g/n connectivity, a 1.3MP webcam, 3D VISION glasses, an SD card slot and more.
Under the hood, the hardware engine lives up to the "performance" claims by combining an Intel Core i5-460M processor clocked at 2.53 GHz and Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics (with 3D VISION @ 120 Hz). The portable rig will also have 4 GB of RAM and a 640 GB HDD.
Unfortunately, little else is known about the laptop at this point. Acer's AS5745DG-A54E/L is slated to hit Japan starting December 3 for less than 100k yen (less than $1,200 USD). Currently there's no indication when the device will land Stateside.
