Mobile phone backup service introduces Google Calendar synchronisation
Free mobile phone backup service ZYB has introduced a new feature allowing users to synchronise their mobile phones with Google Calendar. ZYB users can now synchronise their accounts with their Google Calendar, and so import that data to their mobile phones.
The company is currently also working on full two-way synchronisation between ZYB and Google Calendar ; the aim being to allow users to export calendar items from their phones to Google by around February.
According to company content manager Runar Reistrup the Google Calendar synchronisation "has by far been the most requested new feature by our users." He also elaborated on future plans based on user feedback. "Users are starting to request backup of other data on their phone, SMS messages and pictures in particular. We have included this in our development plans, but unfortunately I cannot say exactly when our more extensive backup features will be launched."
There are other services available which synchronise Google Calendar with mobile phones, such as GooSync, but ZYB is beginning to offer a much wider integrated service if one considers phone data backup alongside the synchronisation alone.
