Yahoo posts $254 million profit
Yahoo today reported a net income of $254 million on revenues of $1.33 billion for the third quarter of this year. Revenues were up 47 percent over the third quarter of 2004, when Yahoo reported sales of $907 million. Profits were virtually flat with the $253 million the company posted a year ago.
Yahoo’s main income source remains advertising which brought in $1.16 billion or 46 more than in Q3 of 2004. Fee-based services continued to grow and resulted in sales of $170 million, up from $110 million. Available cash flow from operating activities jumped from $267 to $440 million.
Yahoo continues to make most of its money in the US. Revenues reached $923 million (plus 41 percent), international sales topped $407 million (plus 62 percent).
