Beta of new Yahoo Maps includes satellite images, live traffic reports
Yahoo posted a beta version of its online map. The updated service has received much of the look and feel of Google Maps - including the option to display satellite images as well as a hybrid version of a regular map and satellite imagery.
Local search results relating to the location currently viewed are now closely tied to Yahoo Maps and users will have the opportunity to easily print maps and send them via email to other users. Directions can also be sent to cellphones. Commuters may appreciate the new service as it comes automatically with live traffic reports for most major metropolitan areas in the US.
