Xtrem lowers Mac speed promise
Skeptics who doubted statements by Xtrem, that it would ship a 1.2GHz Mac, were at least partly right. The Swedish Mac upgrade company has modified its claims and now says it will sell instead a Mac clocked to 1066MHz. The company's Website also promises a dual-processor version.
The register theorizes that the project missed several previous target dates while waiting for the arrival of the PowerPC 7450, the G4 Plus, which is designed for higher clock speeds.
