Xilinx increases soft processor clock speed
Xilinx announced the availability of a performance-optimized 4.00 version of its MicroBlaze soft processor. The 32-bit RISC (reduced instruction set computing) core operates at frequencies up to 200 MHz in Virtex-4 field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) delivering a 25% increase in core performance compared to previous versions.
