A brief recap of our performance findings should show more similarities than difference between each motherboard model. We’ll begin with games.
Asus wins the gaming performance roundup, but Intel’s latest Extreme Series motherboard isn’t far behind.
ECS takes the win in applications, with Asus dropping to the bottom.
Asus again loses in video encoding performance, but it’s a very tight race.
A board doesn’t have to win any particular category to come out on top overall, since two second-place finishes often beat a first- and last-place finish. Let’s see how these motherboards compare when we average all the performance differences.
Intel’s own-brand motherboard takes a surprise win in overall performance, but the P5E3 Premium isn’t far behind. ASRock spoils the curve by dragging it down with DDR2 installed, as a difference of less than 2% separates the rest of the field.

Where is the Cost/Performance ratio.
I think ASrock have done well to put forward a competitive offering and I reckon they will be notably cheaper. I think they bring the enthusiam to the masses.
I personally would go for the Gigabyte or DFI board, because their builds are quality and could conceivably last for years.
