We’ve noted that the P35 is often a better overclocker with better memory stability than the X38 Express, but it’s somewhat of a surprise to see an "average performance" P35 motherboard leading the Call of Duty 2 benchmark at stock speed. Also surprising is the somewhat problematic but much improved Foxconn X38A’s second place stock speed finish.
When overclocked, the third-highest CPU speed sees the best performance, likely due to the Maximus Extreme’s excellent memory stability.

The Maximus Extreme dominates F.E.A.R. at both stock and overclock speeds.

The Asus Maximus Extreme again leads in Quake 4 at stock speed, but the slightly higher stable overclock puts Gigabyte’s GA-X38T-DQ6 in the overclocking winner’s circle.
