Blizzard Releases Race Changer for WoW
Now you can change things up for just $25.
After putting countless hours into World of Warcraft, some players may be tired of their characters. Instead of starting over again just for a change, Blizzard is now offering a paid race changing service. For just $25, you can change your race as long as you stay in your faction of Alliance or Horde.
Mind you, this is different from the Faction Change service, which costs $30. The following details com from Blizzard's Race Change FAQ:
What is the Race Change service?
Our Race Change service is designed to allow existing characters the opportunity to change their designated race while staying in their existing faction (Alliance or Horde).
Can I use the Race Change service to change factions?
No, faction changes are handled separately through our Faction Change service. For more information, visit the Faction Change FAQ.
How do I begin the Race Change process?
To begin the Race Change process, please visit the Account Management page, select the Race Change option, and carefully follow the instructions provided. How much does this service cost?
Each Race Change costs $25.00 USD (not including applicable taxes). This covers a single Race Change for a single character.
Tell us, WoW players, are you changing your race?

blizzard really begining to clutch at straws here...
i quit wow 18 months ago, after being an addicted freak for years.
what the hell has happened? how can anyone even contemplate WOW being an RPG if you can - change realm, change talents, change race, change faction? what a load of rubbish.
my advice, play a real rpg like guildwars, stop paying blizzard £10 per month to use 'facebook for geeks' service.
AION FTW
Blizzard really are greedy bastards, they want to bleed their clients dry for any little thing.
No wonder activison has really sunk to low depths after merging with them and Vivendi. Blood sucking leeches the lot of them
Far from actually improve my life I've found some online games to have a detrimental effect, hence the reasons I stopped playing them. It wasn't so much any technical issues, but rather issues affected by them, i.e. the communities that spring up and the whole 'collective' philosophies attatched to wearing clan tags, or being part of clan.
The games started as fun and I met a lot of people, but after a while the countless arguments and battles, the countless people persistently trying to be trendy and cool (including the forums), really put me off. The real nail in the coffin was giving admin rights to children, which I totally disagree with and as you can imagine, which inevitably ended up in repetitive and tiring arguments of silliness. I came to the conclusion that like any 'addiction', there are consequences and for me it was the effect these arguments were having on my ability to handle situations.
I really didn't like what I was becoming and the way I was dealing with situations, including these kiddie admins..I knew when to stop but they were spending hours..days on these games and becoming increasingly embroiled in them as though the outside world never existed. The games were no longer about the game itself, if you know what I mean, and all the updates and mods really didn't do much. I decided to play with different people in the games as much as I could, rather than stick around in one server, and only play in moderation.
