Semiconductor chip sales were $12.52 billion worldwide at the end of October 2002, an increase of 1.8% over September's sales, and have increased 20% over 2001 sales. The Q3 sales increase is the third in a row, a positive sign of recovery for the high technology industry. Other good news indicated that flash memory sales increased 6.9% and digital signal processor sales increased 4% from September to October 2002.
