Worldwide LCD monitor shipments remained solid in Q1 07, says DisplaySearch
Worldwide LCD monitor market remained solid in the first quarter of 2007, falling only 3.7% on a unit shipment basis, instead of the typical seasonal drop of 10-12% from the fourth quarter of 2006 to the first quarter. LCD monitor shipments, which dropped only marginally from 38 million units in the fourth quarter of 2006 to 36.6 million units in the first quarter of 2007, were particularly bolstered by the growth of widescreen displays, which increased 40% on quarter, and by shipments into less mature markets such as China, Asia Pacific and Latin America, where shipments increased 3%, 29% and 12%, sequentially, respectively.
