VMware recently released a new beta version of its virtualization software Workstation 6.0. According to the release notes, the current build 36983 includes support for Windows Vista and multi-monitor systems. The software also removes the 4 GB memory limit, works with USB 2.0 devices and introduces cross-platform drag-and-drop, which allows users to move files and directories from a Linux or Windows host to a Linux, Solaris, or Windows guest, and vice versa.
The beta software is offered as a free download (167 MB) in exchange for providing registration info and answering a few survey questions.
