Plug-In Setup: Nero Burning Rom

Ad

File backup via network is convenient and relatively quick. Not everybody has a second computer close at hand, however. A good alternative is to back up files to CD or DVD; any PC worth its salt should have at least a CD burner. To be able to burn, you of course need a second CD- or DVD-ROM drive to boot up the system.

It's easiest to set up Nero from a local installation. All files in the Ahead\Nero folder are copied to the plugin\nero_burning_rom\files folder. The empty file "put nero files here" indicates that the target directory is correct.

Nero Versions 5.5 and 6.0 are supported; make sure with Version 6 that the shfolders.dll file from the System32 directory is copied as well.

With Nero 6, don't forget the shfolders.dll file from the System32 folder

As Nero is not freeware, a license is required to run it. A key is entered and saved in the registry when you first run Nero. Because BartPE cannot save the registry entry itself, it has to be entered each time Nero is run. To get around this, the registry details can be added to the .inf file. Use the Edit button to do this.
