Windows gets a new name in Europe

As part of the antitrust sanctions levied by the European Commission, Microsoft was forced to release a version of Windows XP stripped of all media-playing functionality. Removing Windows Media Player and other functions from the OS was the easy part ; the hard part was coming up with a moniker for the differently-able operating system. After some wrangling, the EC and Microsoft have come up with "Windows XP Home Edition N" and "Windows XP Professional Edition N."
