Winbond boosted TFT LCD source driver IC shipments in 2Q
Winbond Electronics boosted TFT LCD source driver IC shipments to nine million chips in the second quarter, up 40% from the first quarter. The company predicts its source driver IC shipments will be about the same in the third quarter but might increase in the fourth quarter on TFT LCD price cuts that would stimulate demand of TFT LCDs and thus driver ICs.
