Wildcat Accelerators on the Prowl
It used to be that you could only get a 3Dlabs Wildcat card in a turn-key name-brand workstation. That's about to change - a little. 3Dlabs has just announced a new Wildcat Partner Program that the company says will make these high-end graphics accelerators available to a wider range of users. The catch is that systems integrators and OEMs must go through what 3Dlabs calls a "no-cost, rapid certification process." The Wildcat 4110 card will be the first in the Wildcat line available in this manner. While shelf-boxed cards are unlikely, I'm sure that some crafty individuals will manage to trickle a few into the grey market. If you're a systems integrator and want more info on the Wildcat Partner Program visit the 3Dlabs' site.
