Redmond (WA) - Continuing its promise to add new titles to the Wii download service every Monday, Nintendo today announced that three more classic games will be available later today, one each from the NES, Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx16.

At noon Eastern time today, the Virtual Console platform will add the classic Tennis NES game, Space Harrier II for the Sega Genesis, and the TurboGrafx16 war simulator Military Madness. The games will cost 500 ($5), 800 ($8), and 600 ($6) points, respectively, the common price for each corresponding system.

Like many other popular NES titles, Tennis has been reincarnated several times over the past few years, but Space Harrier II and Military Madness have essentially been locked away since their original releases in the past decade, which is the main target for the Virtual Console.

Earlier this month, Nintendo announced that new Virtual Console titles would be added every Monday, taking a page from Microsoft’s Xbox Live service. With growing interest, the XBL Arcade began offering new games every Wednesday several months ago.

Sony has yet to spark significant interest in its PS3 downloadable game service, dubbed the e-Distribution Initiative (EDI), mainly because the console is still in extremely short supply, and because the current set of games requires a connection to a PSP console before they can be played.
