Taiwan WLAN equipment maker see rise in pre-N shipments
Taiwan wireless LAN (WLAN) equipment makers, including CyberTAN Technology, Gemtek Technology and Sercomm, observe an increase in shipments in May of products based on the pre-802.11n (pre-N) wireless networking specification, according to industry sources.
Although Taiwan-based manufacturers previously estimated that pre-N equipment shipments would reach only 500,000 units in the second quarter, they found customers aggressively placing orders from May, the sources said.
