WiebeTech Puts 1 GB of Storage on Your Keychain

Now that we're seeing gads of these little flash storage devices that we can put on our keychains, the next million dollar gadget might just be a way for us to lock the device securely to our belt so we don't lose it with our keys. The latest entry in the tiny storage device arena is WiebeTech's FireWire Keychain, a portable FireWire (IEEE1394) storage device available in capacities up to 1GB. The FireWire Keychain uses nonvolatile flash memory, which doesn't require magnetic media or electrical power to retain data. WiebeTech says that pricing will be announced on its website on Wednesday, January 23. It supports Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP and Macintosh OSX and OS 8.6 - 9.x. It will be available in 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB capacities, measures 1.75" x 2.35" x 0.85" (45mm x 60mm x 22mm), and weighs about 2 ounces. For added security on business trips, you could probably swallow it.
