Web News Rules
According to the Content Intelligence Group of Lyra Research, most of you would rather get your news on the company's time rather than burning valuable pub hours reading magazines when you get home. A recent report by the research group shows a dramatic preference for the Internet as an information source. 63 percent of the study's survey respondents chose the Internet for personal and special interest information, compared with just 18 percent who chose magazines. For work-related information, 48 percent selected the Web as their favorite source while only 7 percent preferred magazines. The study is showcased in a new publication by Lyra called Content Intelligence. The article also notes that once consumers begin using the Web, they use it more frequently as their experience increases. These same users also tend to wean themselves off traditional media sources as they become more net savvy. Bear in mind that the survey was conducted via the web.
