A design student at Brunel University in London has built a toaster that takes a weather forecast from the Internet and puts the image on toast. According to the BBC, he decided he couldn't compete with fellow students on the basis of helpfulness so he concentrated on "fun and cool." He also claims inspiration from MIT's Tangible Media project - dedicated to turning everyday objects into information carriers.
