Though the numbers are hard to verify, 3-D appears to an increasingly popular feature on numerous Websites. A serious rivalry exists, however, between the "rendering" people who want only to represent three dimensions using perspective and shadowing, and the "stereoscopic" people who use special glasses to create the illusion of three true dimensions. High profile companies, including FAO Schwartz, MTV, Eddie Bauer, Palm and Sharper Image all have some form of 3-D on their sites and content providers are experimenting with 3-D presentations.
