$1 billion plan to promote the Internet
Spain will spend around $1.1 billion to promote use of the Internet, particularly in schools, small companies and isolated towns, Science and Technology Minister Josep Pique announced. "The plan, approved by ministers at their weekly meeting, calls for the central government to fund 63 percent of the total, regional governments 26 percent and the private sector 11 percent."
