VoIP telephony by Fujitsu
These are two interesting Fujitsu VoIP telephones. Let’s start with the WiPCom1000, that looks very much like a regular telephone, but it has a WiFi connection and a CF port to slide in those PHS cards (like GSM/GPRS) and with a connection speed up to 128 kbps. It runs on Windows CE 4.2 and has an Intel Xscale PXA272 CPU. This telephone will be on sale in Japan from September onwards. Then we have the second model, the FR-V, that is more centred around video conferencing. It has a FR461 (400 MHz) CPU, 128 MByte of RAM and 64 MByte of ROM, WiFi b, a CF and SD port, MPEG 4 video compression and to top things off, the Linux OS is based on the Red Hat Linux 2.4 kernel. There is no release date yet for this product.
