VoIP IC market to grow five-fold by 2009
Voice-over IP (VoIP) ICs continue to gain traction as VoIP functionality is integrated into customer premise equipment (CPE) including modems, routers and residential gateways, In-Stat suggests. The VoIP IC market will grow to US$1.3 billion in 2009, up more than five-fold from $208.7 million in 2004, according to the market research firm.
For the next few years, wireless handsets will become another key growth driver for the overall VoIP IC market.
