Vivato fleshes out new management team
In a follow up to its recent announcement of Donald Stalter as CEO, Vivato today announced four appointments to its executive management team
Siavash Alamouti has been promoted to chief technology officer. Mr. Alamouti was previously a senior scientist at AT&T Wireless and is an internationally recognized expert in smart antenna technology. He is also the inventor of the Alamouti Code, the first multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) code that also has been adopted for other wireless standards, including 3G wireless and 802.16 (WiMax). Alamouti replaces Marcus de Silva - Vivato’s second CTO - who left the company last month.
Dave Roth is the new V.P.of engineering and responsible for coordinating hardware, software and systems development. Vivato’s announcement said Mr. Roth brings "20 years of experience in leading development teams at Allegro Networks, Alcatel, NexGen, VLSI Technology and Advanced Micro Devices".
Bradley Kolb - previously vice president of operations at Proxim - is the new V.P of operations and Mark Tyre moves from director of sales - a post he’s held since joining Vivato in 2002 - to V.P. of North American sales. Both are said to have over 20 years of industry experience.
No mention was made of a replacement for VP of marketing Phil Belanger, who departed with Mr. de Silva last month.
