VIA to launch 802.11b chips in 2Q, GbE single chips in July
VIA Networking Solution (VNS), a 100%-owned subsidiary of VIA Technologies, said it will launch an 802.11b MAC/baseband single chip this quarter and mass produce Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) MAC/PHY single-chip solutions in July, a move expected to place great pressure on Realtek Semiconductor, Taiwan's largest networking chip vendor.
