VIA slightly ahead of SiS in having embedded solutions adopted in IPC sector
Anticipating the great potential of embedded system applications, chipset designers VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) have extended their operations into the field. Launched at the end of 2001, VIA's Eden platform solution has attracted many industrial PC (IPC) makers. SiS's SoC (system-on-chip) series (SiS550, SiS551 and SiS552), on the other hand, seemed to have fallen behind in customer launches.
