Chipset maker Via Technologies Inc. said late Monday night that it had licensed Bluetooth technology from Ericsson.

The deal includes both radios and baseband cores. Acer Laboratories previously licensed Bluetooth technology from NewLogic Technologies. Microsoft has also given the green light to the technology.

"This licensing agreement on Bluetooth wireless technology extends our range of connectivity options for the PC and mobile arenas, in line with our Total Connectivity vision."
