Verizon launches "Env" phone
Basking Ridge (NJ) - Verizon Wireless today released the "Env", its latest V Cast phone, as the official successor to LG’s "The V" phone. With a Sidekick-type design and interface, Verizon is calling it "the ultimate in coverged device."
The enV has all the features that most V Cast phones include, such as Bluetooth, microSD card slot, a proprietary music player, and e-mail capabilities. It also sports a 2-megapixel camera and a full QWERTY keyboard.
Additionally, the enV is equipped with VZ Navigator, a Verizon application that gives users a slate of GPS functions on their phone for a $10 monthly fee, or a one-day charge of $3.

Jeff Hwang, vice president of marketing for LG, said customer feedback was considered in creating the enV. "Through listening to consumer demand we’ve taken a great product like The V and made it even better by adding a higher-resolution camera with lens cover, expanded music capability through Bluetooth stereo headset functionality and re- designed it to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand," he said.
The subsidized price for the Env, when purchased with a two-year service agreement, is $150 after a $50 rebate. It is available now from Verizon retailers nationwide.
