Vendors begin slashing prices for 802.11n devices

Branded network-equipment vendors in the US have recently begun slashing the prices of their 802.11n devices after the Wi-Fi Alliance on June 25 started launching its certified program for 802.11n draft 2.0 products, according to sources at Taiwan network-device makers.For example, prices for entry-level 802.11n AP routers in US retail channels were lowered to below US$100 per unit recently, with Taiwan-based D-Link aggressively slashing the price of its 802.11n AP router to $60, the sources indicated.
