V Cast adds new BET mobile TV channel
Basking Ridge (NJ) - Verizon today announced that it has added the first new TV channel of 2007 to its multimedia V Cast service, in a new partnership with BET Networks that brings many of the basic cable channel’s shows to the mobile service for the first time.
Complete episodes from original series American Gangster and College Hill are available from the new channel, as are clips from BET’s Comic View and the music show 106 & Park.
"Mobile video distribution is an integral part of our overall digital media strategy as our research clearly indicates that African Americans are both leading consumers of, and have the most enthusiasm for, mobile media," said Debra Lee, chairman and CEO of BET Networks.
V Cast is available to virtually everyone with a recent Verizon phone, and will cost users $3 to access the content for 24 hours. Alternatively, an "all you can eat" plan is available for a monthly subscription fee of $15.
