Remember To Discriminate
Your weapons are pretty few in number; besides a half-dozen melee weapons like tire irons and baseball bats, you only have 7 firearms to choose from, two of which are revolvers! And try as you might, even spending tons of XP on the necessary skills for improvement, you will find that accuracy and weapon kick are so poor and exaggerated that you are much better off focusing on your Disciplines.

Attack them with crows - from your mind!
Disciplines function like magic in most other RPG worlds, with both defensive and offensive spells. Different from other RPGs, however, is the method by which you replenish your "Mana" - called "Blood" in the game.

Getting attacked by other vampires... sucks.
To replenish your blood, you have to lay the suck down on other people. This feeding can either be done on a prostitute you have lured into an alley, a rat you grab from the sewer (won't work for the discriminating Ventrue), or other vamps. Vamps can usually shake you off before you sink in, but other characters become totally at your mercy when you bite. The world seems to fade away and the camera spins around so you can see the embrace from every angle. But don't be greedy; if you drain them totally of blood, you will get into trouble.

In High School I use to beat people up that dressed like that. Unfortunately, the icon in the upper left-hand corner means you are in an area controlled by a very powerful vampire. No fighting allowed.
