Valve to ship Half-Life 2, extensions for PS3 and Xbox 360

Valve will be jumping on the Playstation 3 train by recycling its Half-Life 2 story. The package for Sony’s next-generation game console will include "enhanced" versions of Half-Life 2 and Episode One - the first part of a Half-Life 2 related trilogy Valve is rolling out - as well Episode 2, which will also include the games Team Fortress and Portal.

According to the developer, Episode Two offers users to quip the main character, Dr. Gordon Freeman, with new weaponry and vehicles that are used to race through a countryside riddled with "an increasingly fierce Combine threat."

Team Fortress 2 is described as an all-new version of the "title that spawned team based multiplayer action games." Valve promises that it includes "the most advanced graphics of any Source-based game released to date." Players choose from a range of character classes such as medic, spy, sniper, or engineer and have to work together to complete "a variety of tactical objectives."

According to Valve, Team Fortress 2 and Portal will be included with all retail and Steam versions of Episode Two for the PC. In addition, these products plus Half-Life 2 and Episode One will be available in one package for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The company did not say when the games will be available for purchase.
