USB to connect peripherals without PCs
The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) will apparently approve a spec for USB On-the-Go that will enable the connections of digital cameras to printers, or PDAs to smart phones, using USB ports. A writer for EBNews predicts that, when approved, the serial peripheral bus will pose a "threat to peer-to-peer technologies such as Bluetooth and 1394 FireWire" simply because USB is familiar to consumers even if it is not the best technology.
