UN moving to unify e-signature laws
The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (Uncitral) is working on a framework that would act as a starting point for the creation of a worldwide legal understanding of digital signatures. Though a widely-accepted means of proving identities and signing contracts on the Web is prerequisite if international e-commerce is to fulfill its potential, there is no general agreement yet about the form that electronic signatures will ultimately take.
