UK military produces worm stopper
The UK's Ministry of Defence has apparently tired of waiting for software security firms to solve the problem of viruses that copy themselves via e-mail. The Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (Dera) has unveiled software that warns users when a virus is attempting to send messages to the entire address book. Titled ::Mail, it would not stop a user from being damaged by a virus, but it could prevent the spread of self-replicating worms.
