Tyan's Trinity i845 Motherboard for P4

With all the P4 motherboards we're seeing, you still have more choices than deciding between which one you want. Do you buy now and go with SDRAM? Do you wait until next year to buy a board that supports DDR-SDRAM? Go for broke and pick up a board that supports RDRAM? Or do you say the hell with the confusion and stick with AMD? Here's another i845 board to add to your list of options. This week, Tyan let us know about the Trinity i845, which features a 4x AGP slot, six PCI slots, and supports both ATA-100 drives and USB peripherals. The Trinity i845 is currently only available in sample quantities. Tyan expects volume production to begin in early Q4 2001. Features include a PGA478 P4 socket, Intel 845 chipset with 400MHz Front-Side Bus, three DIMM sockets for up to 3GB of PC100/133 SDRAM, one AGP slot that supports 2x and 4x graphics modes, six 32-bit 33MHz (5V) PCI expansion slots, and a dual-channel ATA-100 controller, all assembled in an ATX form factor (12" x 9.6").
