Two clicks patent to net Microsoft cash
The US Patent and Trademark Office has granted a patent number for a "time based hardware button for application launch" to Microsoft. The patent only applies to handheld computers that run PocketPC software and is specific to the technique of opening different features depending on how many times a button is pressed.
