TSMC to produce GPUs for Nvidia on 0.11-micron process
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will produce select new graphics processing units (GPUs) using 0.11-micron process technology for Nvidia, according to a February 25 press statement. The decision underscores the long-standing relationship between TSMC and Nvidia, stated Di Ma, Nvidia vice president of operations in the statement. As reported, the US-based company has produced its top-of-the-line graphics chip - the GeForce FX5950 Ultra - using TSMC’s 0.13-micron process.
