TSMC may license name to defend against misuse
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) may adopt a new authorization strategy in defense of its name against misuse by competitors which claim to offer "TSMC-like" products, sources with IC design houses said.
The world’s number one pure-play foundry may authorize partners for its outsourced production to say they are "TSMC licensed" when soliciting orders of their own, the sources said.
