TSMC chairman: Taiwan to become global 12" hub in five years
At a May 14 ceremony marking the beginning of 12" production at Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) chairman Morris Chang forecast that Taiwan would be the world's center for 12" fabs within the next five years. The island will host more than 10 fabs using the advanced technology.
